A dumpling, curry, and mashed potatoes walk into a coworking space……….

Let’s eat.

At a previous job we would host a November potluck lunch every year.

And when some of the staff started to hem and haw about how much “work” it took, I stepped in to spearhead the gathering.

It needed to happen. I flipped the narrative.

No one said it had to be your Nonna’s long lost recipe.

If you can make something from scratch = great
If you can pick up some hummus from the store = great
And if you cannot contribute (no matter the reason) = great

I will make sure you get fed.

People would show up with Chinese food from their favorite restaurant, someone’s husband would actually roast a whole turkey and then make seasonal turkey salad from it (a much appreciated over achiever), there were curries, pies, cookies, veggies and dip.  And the list went on.

So we would pause on the selected day and break bread.

It’s so simple, as humans, we all need to eat and there’s no better way than sitting down together to share stories and nourish.

And there’s something about these gatherings that feed the soul and create connection.

Unsurprisingly, I’ve brought that potluck energy with me to CWK.

CoWorkers, I’ll see you next week for the annual potluck. #excited

So whether you sit down with family (bio or chosen), feast with friends, or donate your time to a shelter or soup kitchen, there is no wrong way to gather.

Much love,
