Hey, Friends.
I’ll have what she’s having.
But I’m not talking about, “When Harry Met Sally”.
As we are all TOO aware, there’s a lot going on right now, and no matter where you land – a lot is a lot. So what can we do when things feel like a bit too much?
Or rather, what do you do? Take a moment to think about it.
Can you lean into that now?
CoWork Kingston is backed into the Senate House State property and when the weather is particularly warm it is a space of selfcare:
Walks, outdoor eating at the picnic tables, reading on the benches, and local children playing in the grass.
AND from time to time, I see one of our neighbors taking their “me time”.
They stretch and make sure to shake off whatever has been built up during the morning. They then sit in the shade of a tree making time for themselves and eat. A selfcare genius.
Me time.
We should all have what they’re having.
For myself, I’m not a calisthenics tree sitter, but I do have an outlet that sometimes helps while I’m at work.
Yeah…… I watch Ted Lasso.
I admit while knowing my boss is reading this.
I’ll watch one scene or clip. It helps me reset and get back to work.
It’s a small thing, but personally meaningful.
Selfcare will and should look different for all of us. It’s not all spa days and shopping. Though if that is your yum – get it.
If what you currently crave is non-networky meaningful connection, join us next week. Feb 12, 6-9pm at our event space, Senate Garage. We’re partnering with ConnectHV to host a “Love Your Community” meetup. Scroll for details.
As we move forward, lean into what you need and what will get you get through this year, the month, that day, and onto the next moment.
Be kind to yourself.
Much love: Melanie, Community Manager
