I attended a workshop recently, the virtual kind, and a speaker referred to coworking spaces as “friendship factories.”

AND, let me tell you, this phrase and concept has been living rent free in my mind for last several weeks.

But in a good way.

It just “clicked”. Like….

                                       You get me.

Because in my mind “friendship” , on any level, is simply acts of kindness, support, and community in which you put humanness first.

Over the last several years, I’ve seen our coworkers make friends with other members, introduce friends to the space sharing something that they care about greatly, and have people “scout” us in advance of moving to Kingston – knowing they will have a place to “belong” when they finally relocate.

It’s also why here at CoWork:

  • I’m here to greet and support our members throughout the day.
  • We ask for input and value the feedback of our members.
  • We pivot, change, and grow with our members as their needs change.
  • We keep a constant finger on the pulse of Kingston so that we can provide educated connections locally.
  • And why we partner with other organizations that carry the same mission to support the Kingston community whether it be inside or out of the coworking space.

This concept has layers.

International Coworking Day was August 9th, which is a great reminder of why we are part of this movement and do what we do.

It’s for you friends.

So whether you are part of a coworking space, regularly work out of a coffee shop, or work together in a friends kitchen… you get it.

Stronger together.

Much love,
Melanie – Community Manager
